Vesta Grey - Courtney Headshot

About Courtney

Courtney is a Houston-based interior designer focused on residential design. She graduated from Baylor University, where she earned a degree in Interior Design. Her love of interiors began at a young age, sketching kitchen designs while in art class. Courtney’s own taste leans traditional, but she also has a love of mixing in modern and even quirky pieces that make clients smile.

Courtney’s professional career began at a small firm, where she specialized in designing the interiors of model homes and clubhouses for builders and developers.  This experience taught Courtney to work with a variety of styles, demographics, and price points. Following that, she worked at Calico Corners as an In-Home Designer, where she further developed her knowledge of fabrics and the construction of all window treatments, custom bedding & furniture.  She then went on to work for The Flooring Services of Texas, where she assisted home buyers in selecting materials and finishes to help make their new home vision a reality.  From tile and countertops to lighting and plumbing, this experience gave her an immeasurable amount of knowledge on all of the hard surface materials in design as well as an immeasurable knowledge of construction.

Courtney was recruited by an interior shutter company to be their Creative Design Director. While there, she created and implemented a drapery program designed to pair with their shutter and blind offerings where she had the opportunity to select and name every fabric- a designer’s dream! This role even expanded to have her design a “Barn Door” line for them as well as other shutter styles/color lines. This opportunity allowed her so much creativity; she began to miss design work. Although she always had a side project or two in the mix, it was never enough. She then decided to launch her own firm, and Vesta Grey Interiors was born.
